Dieck has more con, allowing him to use the Armorslayer and the blades (no steel sword until ch7, so they're relevant) without losing speed, allowing him to OR more consistently. He can also double just about everything Rutger can double with the Killing Edge, has better bulk, has extra levels to work with due to being your best unit from chapter 2 onwards and axes>crit.
