An anon in a thread long ago said that the pacifist route and the weird route would parallel Undertale's pacifist and genocide route. In Udertale's genocide route, it's all about putting all the time and effort to kill every single monster, where as in the pacifist route, you have to be creative and think outside the box. This seems to be the case for Deltarune, but in reverse. You take the time and effort to recruit every Darkner and try to brute force bosses to pacification, wherein the weird route, you have to "break" the game and employ unconventional actions to get there. Maybe in the Weird Route, we fight Gaster or some aspect of him, and Noelle or whatever will continually use her frost magic to block out his bullshit.

Again, true, but the fact that Kris felt like he had to risk revealing themself seems to indicate Susie is quickly becoming a legitimate threat.
