WW anime antics were passable thanks to the toon art style but yeah, they started becoming too weeb for their own good shortly after that. Especially after SS.
SNES, GB, N64, GBA and CG remain the golden era of Zelda games and a lot of their charm comes from the fact that they're a largely a perfect blend of standard western fantasy and Japanese anime themes.
The latest stuff in the post Fujibayashi-era games are fucking cringe with all of the weeb and anime tropes forcibly thrown into them.
