It seems to be panning out. Pacifists get to save Berdly's arm (and his gaming ability), Tenna, and Jackenstein. They also get a full castletown. Meanwhile fighters get nothing but small stat gains that are instantly invalidated at the end of the chapter. Honestly there's no point in fighting anything but schizobosses and mandatory fights.
