I grew up in Ontario, it's a shithole. Because of the snow cars look like shit, are impossibly expensive to maintain, and everywhere looks shittier because of the cars. So I shared you mindset of "they're just tools to get around that suck but are needed"
Then I went to California, that's the birthplace of cars, that's where car culture originates.
Let me tell you, if you live in a place that never snows, never salts the road, is sunny 24/7, you have thousands of amazing parks to drive to + an ocean beachfront, and a culture of retro car enthusiasts?
Suddenly car culture makes sense. It's way more affordable to own a car in Cali, and everyone can just have fun. Complete opposite of the east coast where it just becomes a shitty burden that makes you question why we went away from horses.
