Higurashi SOL is perfectly fine for multiple reasons.
>builds up what you want to preserve, the peaceful comfy village life
>heavy contrast with the horror making you doubt these seemingly innocent characters, are they all in a cult or something?
>often used to push themes relevant to the current chapter, eg Satoko's relationship and her brother, water fight, and so on
>sometimes introduce elements of the world (like the town near the village)
>generally just a good pacebreaker that gives some time before horror can creep in again

At worst it would be a little annoying but nothing significant. At best it would be a good addition, sometimes even great (water battle imo).
Either way, obsessing over it like it breaks the story denotes anti weeb brainrot, especially if said person is okay with similar weebshit in Umineko just because of more western presentation.
