They're not as malleable as you may think. When making abstractions they might become more malleable, but they can relatively objective at the primitive level. That's the core of linguistics right?
You do see common patterns at a more macro level too sometimes too, like abstractions relating to common symbols like blood or the sun.
Be careful to assume all labels lack objectivity.

But political abstractions? Generally it's bullshit yeah.
