>Engage is more representative of the average Fire Emblem game,
Except it's really not.
No other Fire Emblem game has all of your characters transforming, or has the entire plot focus around weird fucking rings that bring in characters from old games. Also, MOST FE games don't have a big ass hub world in between maps that loves to waste your time. Engage was actually a regression in that department when compared to Three Houses. Both are big hubs that love to waste your time, but Three Houses actually provides you with unique flavor text in between missions. Engage is the same thing over and over again and has you doing mindless fitness mini games to get stat boosts. It's absurd. You could cut out the entire hub world of Engage and it would be a MUCH better game for it. It's more like three houses in that way, but worse. It does not represent the entirety of the series whatsoever, even its gameplay is turned on its head.
