Procs alone make rotations way more involved, you can't spreadsheet bossfights like you do in FF. It's true there's more filler spam (but a faster GCD), but you're always looking out for opportunities to fish for procs, pool resources to take advantage of other procs and adapt on the fly. For melees, downtime is also a lot more prevalent, so maximizing uptime as a melee in WoW is a lot more complex and involves smart use of your support skills.
