It fucks over video games like all other products because companies have no reason to care about the 60% of the population that have no money. Next cycle it's gonna be 70%, then 80%, etc. unitl you end with everything being just tailored to the personal tastes of the new feudal lords.
And as people get more and more desparte about their future, they start believing the most stupid shit as long as it gives reason to their suffering and a sliver of hope. Meanwhile the rich so far removed from the concerns of the common man that couldn't make things better even if they genuinely tried. Instead they become hostile to normal people because they literally cannot imagine what it's like for us, so clearly all our complaining must be lies.
