Of course you would think that, your conclusion didn't come from a place of logic and rationality, it comes from anger. You feel tricked and betrayed so much so that you don't see that your actions won't lead to that.
I mean, say everything goes off without a hitch. Do you think companies are going to play nice and do everything by the book? Or do you think they're just going to say, kill the game and release an offline version at full price forcing you to pay again. Which of course you will since you lack restraint.
After all, for a game with DRM it wouldn't cost them much to just remove it in a patch but I'm rambling now.
