It's not that he's faking it, he just might not be as weak as people say. In Undertale he was Asgore's best friend, so I would imagine he has SOME strength.
I can imagine Kris and Rudy working together to try to bring back Dess to get their family back together. The Holidays and the Dreemurs keep getting closer and closer with every flashback every chapter. Kris is a teenager who's parents are divorced in a bad way, his brother is gone, and he's self harming. Rudy is the closest thing to a second dad he has.
