PS1 has had a couple decades of decent ports and emulation, plenty of time to experience the massive catalog of good/revolutionary games. The nostalgia and fulfillment of missed opportunities has simmered down.

N64s handful of decent games were played to death when it was a relevant console and it didn't offer much unique gameplay outside of relatively steady 3p+ gameplay, which people can now get their fix for through much better avenues.
Because of its accessibility through Switch, two generations of tech-illiterate retards can now play N64 games more easily than PS1 games. The PS1 era studios that are still around are basicly charging full price for PS1 ports, the dipshit market segment ain't buying shit unless it's on "sale" or via a subscription app that wipes their ass for them.
Emulation? lol, these are the same tards that buy Minecraft and Stardew Valley multiple times for different devices.
