For me the best take on K Rool is make him like Scorpio from The Simpsons in fact that alone would be a good theme for a DK game, K Rool being a James Bond style villain with aspirations of global domination and he does it by being the best boss ever. The idea of King K Rool somehow dealing a blow to the government of the Mario universe would be hilarious.
