Brevik is a bit of an idealistic boomer just like Chris Wilson and barely recognizes how D2 players played his own game. A fireball/lightning sorc in D2 is a fast-paced character that zips around and blows mobs up. Bowazon off-screens mobs and can stack FRW charms and be retardedly fast. Javazon was always insanely strong. Even in 2001, the community was minmaxing MF runs. I would assume even pre-LoD, vanilla D2 has its own clearspeed meta which even Chris touched upon in the interview with Brevik where he bragged about doing calculations for a certain weapon drop(I think it was a rare Lance or something like that) that dropped every six hours on average or something to that effect.
