N64 did not have better games than the PS1, but it DID have a better ratio of good to bad games, but that’s mainly because there are hundreds more PS1 games than N64 games.
In reality a lot of that generation is filled with trash, more so than any other generation save for the Atari days. Out of the thousands of games on N64, Saturn, and PS1, maybe 80 or so games total are even worth looking back to outside of nostalgia or history study. That might sound like a lot of games, but it’s really a tiny amount compared to the sheer ton of games that flooded the CD market.
There are 296 N64 games released in North America(388 world wide)
Conversely there are 1278 ps1 games that were released in North America(over 4k world wide)
And maybe
Saturn had 246 North American releases(1028 world wide)
If you look at the truly great games from these platforms that are exclusive, you get very tiny results, and the n64, which has less games than the other two, comes out with a higher ratio simply by having less games.
