She got away with what, getting such a humongous responsability that is way higher than her field of science? She is an engineer that does robotics better than bioengineering shit and it's only a miracle that she managed to have a successful research and development on Determination shit and even then, her work was just a case of shit backfiring on her + not having the actual brains of the underground (Gaster) to supervise shit + things going out haywire when they seemed just fine based on the logs that tell us she got to revive someone just fine before they went glubglubglub amalgamation and during that brief period of time, which could be longer than a week, she made her calls and saw the other monsters she injected to also turn up fine, i would 100% understand her position. She made a colossal fuck up, one which she could not correct to the point that if it wasn't for Frisk being kind (and also not killing certain characters), she'd rather kill herself than to face the responsability of her fuck ups.
Did she fuck up? Abso-fucking-lutely, is she irredeemable? No, it turns out the amalgamates reintegrated just fine with their families, things might be weird but never hopeless.
