Outright denying that sometimes their hips are too narrow, small, or both for any birth at all, let alone a comfortable birth, kinda sinks a hole into the "skeletology, osteology and anatomy" argument. There's an old doctor's joke about somebody's internal anatomy or bone structure being weird, and the surgeon shrugs and says "I guess they didn't read the medical books."
