Being as charitable as I possibly can, the tranny only really could've worked if they were going for a older and darker version of the character like TP but the castings makes it pretty obvious they're going for more of a youthful childhood adventure type vibe for this movie.
I know that about 50% of the people who wanted Hunter are just ragebaiters and the other half are genuine retards who think they are in good company with the ragebaiters, but the actual castings make the direction pretty clear and Hunter never had a chance even ignoring being a tranny so I don't get why people are so fussy about it.
