Absolutely nothing makes sense in ToTK, and a lot of it is a retread of BoTW.

At least OoT Link and Zelda have the excuse of being naive 10-year old children. But with ToTK there is no excuse.
Once again, they can still adapt BoTW, but that newfound timeline as a whole is already dead in the water, ToTK and AoC killed whatever remaining narrative potential it had left going for it.
