I couldn't say anything to that, because I haven't played XI. I just think it was a dumb idea for them to name an entirely different format of game into the mainline series when they were already making spinoff series.
Same with 14. I played through that finally last year and want to strangle the cheeky bastards that told me that the story gets good after 600 hours, literally the worst writing of the entire series.
