Stat gain is superlinear in the amount of umas and their levels, it's at least quartic. Stat gain starts slow but there's a big difference between 5 maxed umas and 3 unmaxed ones.
I think a lot of people still don't understand that this is a gacha, and it's designed to be played by people who spend hundreds of dollars on it, not f2p players. It's not one of those new-fangled "generous" f2p friendly games. We're talking about a game where the devs expect you to max out Kitasan and then do it again for a dozen more cards AND umas. Most people are bragging about pulling ONE kitasan.
