People who never listened in History or Religion might try to insist on you that this game requires multiple layers of knowledge, but that's really just to affirm their own totally bias analysis of this game.
It's a game about a political conspiracy of a Mother sanctioning the murder of her son and the guilt that followed. The world itself is artificial, almost semi-aware of the fact that words hold their own innate power (There is a reason you use Runes and Rememberances to become stronger). Her child tried to seize it in the way the society that preceded Marika did, and with her knowledge needed to put an end to it.
Godwyn wanted to become a Dragon, and there is a reason Radagon is an anagram of "A Dragon".
