I wasn't talking about speed, but about the range of motion, which SlopWarrior limits you to shit half-assed tank control turret pivots, while the lore and books talk about battlemechs playing basket ball and similar televised sports, and that the better the pilot, the more smooth and agile the movements of the battlemech can get, until they are almost 1:1 with human mobility ranges.

Because unironically, the human brain is the most complex "computer" known to us, and definitely at least at the time Battletech was created, computer scientists DID absolutely (and some still do) believe that the way to go was utilize human brain interfaces for computers, because reverse engineering it in programming is impossible. However, if you can already use the neurohelmet to access the pilot's sense of balance, there absolutely cannot be much of a leap to basically use it as a full control interface for the rest of the mech.
