Yeah, it's an irrelevant matter since the home console version of SI didn't have lives anyway. It was just one hit and you're done if I remember right.

1) you'd have a point
And 2) you would have shown proper comprehension of the subject matter in that you know the difference between concept and mechanic.
That said its unlikely that you'll find a game with similar physics to Mario since it wasn't much of a thing before it.
