I played standards for years and quit around Amonkhet.
EDH is so much more enjoyable than seeing the same 4 decks every time in standard.
I didn't ask for Wizards to cater to me, but I'm sure glad they are.

Aethergrift, Karlov, Thunder Junction are the worst hat sets I can think of and those are standard sets with next to 0 commander staples.
