Honestly in WT planes are still advantaged at most battle ratings. Especially if the pilot is good. It's just easy to stay mobile and safe. With the right weapons you can kill a lot of opponents. Might even be a serious threat head to head vs SPAA since those are usually unarmored or only lightly armored. But planes are fragile, and if they do get hit then they often die. Especially if they were in the middle of a dive bombing run when they lose control of an elevator or a wingtip. Even planes like the A-10 and Su-25 are fragile things.
