It is? S3&K is generally considered to be the best 2D Sonic game and arguably the best Sonic game period. Like, the only other 2D game that comes close is maybe Mania? And you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who claims any of the 3D Sonic games are overall better than the 2D Sonics outside of maybe comparing base Sonic 1 to like Sonic Colors or Generations or something. The best of the best 3D versus the worst 2D.
