Sure Dark Souls doesn't have Skills but they have Level = Stat upgrades. Its either that or some other gimmick the devs drop to make the game feel different. In Dark Souls 3 you have weapon arts as well as in Elden Ring which are unlocked by levelling up stats correctly.
