>Conquest of Elysium 5 by the same devs, have you ever played it
I've played it, but it's a completely different game compared to Dominions. It's more fast-paced, as in it's 100% possible to lose on the first turn because your main wizard got fucked up in a battle or your main settlement was conquered by a nearby neutral mob. The battles are still automated, but you have less control over them since you can't do things like deciding squad actions or script spells or whatever. It's also more limited in terms of what kinds of magic you can cast? Basically, it's more beginner friendly but far less complex than Dominions. It shares a lot of the same assets but none of the lore and isn't even the same setting. That being said, it's still 100% possible to sink a shitload of time into it, but games are more random and neutral units can only really fuck you over in the beginning. Once you have a decent army, then like in Dominions, you have to really worry about other players.

The AI in Dom6 is about as good as the AI in Dom5, I think. I played Dom6 multiplayer and it's really fun, but I don't think the Warhammer civs are very balanced, lol.
