I think thats in character for the universe though. the "player" may be the force behind heroes in that world. consider that toby was obsessed with the idea of a driving force behind protagonists even back with playing brandish and his halloween hack. whoever is being backed by that entity, by big protagonist energy probably gets enough determination to "see the story all the way through to the end". I guess im saying that if monsters got out and waged war, there very well may end up being another human that (you) are backing
