I’ve always disliked the map but I think Metroidvanias as a concept just kinda suck. 99% of them can’t seem to give you a real reason to back track other than just forcing you too, which turns progression into this really weird sluggish feeling of doing the same thing over and over. The DLC’s for this game are godly though and are worth playing the entire thing just for them alone. The lore is also fun
