Souls-likes are 3D ARPGs. Not 2D platformers.
And you don't get the i-frame dodge in hollow knight until towards the end of the game. The combat is not designed around it as a default character ability like in dark souls.
Then there's all the shit like stamina management, different weapons with different movesets, progression gating via moveset upgrades, etc. that differs between them. They are not the same genre.
