I imagine it will be perfectly fine as a standalone game. I certainly wouldn't suggest rushing through Hollow Knight in the next two weeks to then immediately play Silksong.
I think the best options would be either playing Hollow Knight first at a normal pace without worrying about Silksong if you are the patient type and don't care about FOMO. Or going ahead and playing Silksong first and going back to Hollow Knight after if you're the type that doesn't mind going back to simpler, earlier games in a series.
