Because they're not returning to actually movement centric games and are still playing corridor shooters with a different coat of paint, because it's still made to be played on retro controllers with all of the implied aim assist and modern development slop that implies.
If the game doesn't have dedicated servers, a map editor and mod support, then it's also shit and not worth praising.
