you could say I was excluded from Quake 1. I grew up in Germany where the game was banned. literally didn't even know it existed. I was also too young to be a player in the 90s any way. I am judging Quakeworld by what I can see on youtube. in a modern Quakeworld competition the lightning gun is very clearly the strongest gun. I can only assume that ball mice made the difference and it wasn't so overpowered back in the day when you played the game. sorry I shat on your favorite game but I stand by the claim that nobody wants to play it today and a game like it would not succeed. seems obvious enough.

what mod were the actual pros like zero4 or cooller playing at Quakecons? it certainly wasn't anything like promod. it certainly wasn't anything that speeds up weapon switching or gives more air control.

once again correct. quake 3's hey day was before my time as a PC gamer. yet I can see clearly that quake 3 was the peak of the original games and I know enough about how QL differs from it to judge the game's design. speaking of
