This is usually a TDM map which plays around quad, but there's no quad in 1on1, the map has no RA and no shaft and the RL is in a position that you only really want to defend the exit from so it's not realistic to prevent access to RL. That leaves you with only 2 items worth caring about on the whole map, yellow and mega where mega is a 1 minute spawn

You need to understand that most of Thresh's movement in the video isn't dictated by item timings but by the other player's position on the map and whether he thinks he can take the fight or not as he tracks which items Entropy has picked up. He loses first YA due to spawn position and actively avoids fighting for the first minute - You can watch him following audio cues to stay behind Entropy's position, not entering YA room until he hears the splash of Entropy leaving and then sitting on YA essentially giving up the rest of the map to try and come back from a down position. He doesn't properly challenge until 2nd MH because he knows he's behind and is waiting for an opportunity to catch up

That's a lot of Quake duelling strategy, it's not just about running to an item position every 30 seconds, you need to track how strong the other player is and avoid fights when they're at an advantage
