If you actually want to engage with the Tool system at all, you need shards, which means grinding because there is absolutely no system in place at all to give you free shards for resting and thus there is no incentive to use tools in any experimental capacity at any point for any reason.

Basically the game falls apart in the second half where the Rosary economy is immediately ruined because you go from only going on what you get naturally in Act 1, to then being able to farm hundreds in barely any time at all from enemies as soon as you get to the City.
Farming is a cringe way to play but when it's this plentiful and you can solve all your Rosary problems in about 10 minutes, why wouldn't you just do that?
Ironically, you would only actually farm Rosary to buy Shard bundles.
