This goes as far back as the early 2010s with streamers playing shitty indie horror games on pc like Slender which became prime streamer bait and then the rise of Minecraft. It’s lowest common denominator content but of course a kid sees his favorite streamer play all this shit and it’s only available to download on pc so their interest grows
