This game is not a sequel to Bloodlines, period. What it actually is, is just one of the many Vampire: The Masquerade visual novels that, at some point during development, someone thought would be a good idea to slap a fake action game skin on. It's clearly a desperate attempt to disguise a half-baked VN structure. The result? A project that wants to look like a spiritual successor, but ends up feeling more like Shadows of Seattle: 3D Edition. I like to call this a "performative game" everything in it was made to look good in recorded gameplay, designed to render nicely on YouTube or in reviews from some tranny. It looks interesting when you're watching someone else play it. But holy shit, when you actually play it yourself, you feel like wrapping the controller cord around your neck. The structure is pathetic. It’s fucking three hours (and that’s if you’re not reading everything carefully) of linear campaign, being a doormat for the Prince, a boring, useless asshole. A never-ending chain of bullshit errands, zero agency, no freedom, just taking orders like a retard. (Even the original game wasn’t this bad.)

Then you think, “okay, maybe now it opens up” and the map gets unlocked. Great, right? Nope. What follows is a bunch of worthless sidequests with no weight, no depth, just filler trash to pad playtime. What was promised as a true Bloodlines sequel, full of moral choices, vampiric politics, and freedom of approach, turned into a generic Frankenstein of a game with weightless combat, soulless writing, and an open world that’s pure illusion.
