BG3 is the better game. Both games have, in general, mediocre writing. Like all modern games. BG3’s overall strory is bad with very weak themes, due to the ”iterative process”. WotR does better in that aspect, but is little more than power fantasy. BG3’s combat is tactically more interesting and with better encounter design. WotR has better character building, due to using a better system, PF1>D&D5E.

The most important factor that makes BG3 better is it being more innovative. No, not the visuals. It’s the player agency and freedom in how to solve problems, interact with the world and deal with NPCs. You can kill who you want, steal what you want, spells interact with the world, etc. WotR, like the older Infinity Engine games, is more like a visual novel in this regard, with developer approved choices and specific railroaded paths. BG3 is the better RPG.

Lastly, just so more retards seethe, I’ll proclaim that WotR has the bestest waifu, and she is Camellia. She has actual agency of her own. Wenduag has something similar, but it is forced externally by the demonic blood. BG3, and other WotR companions, suffer from being (and feeling) like slavish automatons of the protagonist, which makes them uninterestintg I also have to deduct points from Larian for ruinint the best waifu of BG1 and 2, Viconia.
