Depends, I have around 2k hours in poe1, started in the public beta, and I stopped because:
a, there was so much crap happening visually on screen that it was just impossible to tell whats going on, no I dont mean the game is fast, I mean the game stacks like 5 visual effects on one spot on the ground and its a guessing game which ones you can and cant see, worse yet most of the league mechanics were pretty boring and basically boiled down to "kill stuff, get loot" so its not like the visuals added much, the gardening one was the last one I tried because it felt kinda new
b, there was no new build possibilities, i was at a point where I tried most of the class/skill combos and even the weird ones like righteous fire and such, at this point new fireball flavor or new super late game support gems dont really change much
I think it still a pretty good game but poe2 doesn't have that much bloat (though they are really trying to get there for some reason) and there's some new variables to the gameplay like dodge roll, different melee/gem mechanics and so on.
So all in all, sure try it, why not. But maybe dont pick a melee class.
