Given what birds eat, it's fine. You don't really need to chew to eat a bug or small animal whole. For mammals, eating plant matter and other animals usually requires teeth to break down tendons and ligaments and plant matter to a digestible pulp, otherwise you end up having to spend more time and energy digesting the food than you would otherwise receive having chewed it.

Could also just call the T. Rex the dinosaur equivalent of a lion, to be honest. Even more so if they actually did hunt in packs. Same hunting method, different number of legs.
