MGR and Sekiro are obviously very different and they didnt inspire anywhere as many different games. Just like Furi didnt really inspire many clang clang things
for starters, dont deny it, gamedevs have a massive boner for ripping off fromsoft whenever they put out anything new and massively successful ever since dark souls
now the other thing is
>sekiro's parry is much more central to the game and repeated
>sekiros' parry is for a more deliberate grounded game as opposed to a more fleshed out character action game, the former is much easier to copy
>much more focused on being something that happens repeatedly, as opposed to MGR's where outside of some boss moves and very few enemies, its more about something you only do once while trying to time it for a counter that stops the enemy and gives you a huge ammount of damage
>MGR's non-counter parry is intentionally trivial to pull off repeatedly, as opposed to sekiro where it has the posture gauge and it requires some more timing so its actually part of why the game is hard
its obvious why every random ripoff dev is just taking it from sekiro
