They did the Yu-Gi-Oh thing where they localized some English names as Japanese words (ie. Kazemon and Kumamon), but to be fair, Chakmon makes no sense in any language because it's just a corruption of Chiaki from Chiaki J. Konaka.
Things like Wölfmon (pronounced Volffmon) weren't going to work out from a purely visual standpoint, but it's calling Agnimon "Agunimon" (a-gooney-mon) that baffles me. It's not even localization into another word, it just makes it sound goofy while obscuring the reference.
