he's kinda correct. remasters of games are notorious for butchering games with new textures, lighting etc. to the point its a straight downgrade despite the 'visual clarity' and 'QoL'. Remakes are made most of the time, to replace games which is its own problem.
and when people do emulate, its never in native res which fucks up alot of the effects designed specifically for that resolution.
Original versions of games are usually never experienced how they were intended to during development, films are almost usually always experienced as intended via a single exported video file/piece of film that will be played decades after.
