There's a reason why I mentioned the og GoW 1 which doesn't. It's a very competent game even in its narration. Very lean, and tells a surprisingly deep story without bashing you over your head with long cutscenes. I'll give you a point on the sequels but that's not how the franchise began. Kratos was a complex character before le rage man that he became in the third game. The cuck journos who never even played the original games kept parroting how le rage man he always was and how mature he's become in 2018 while I would argue he was most for le mature audiences in the very first og game.

And yes, I've played every GoW at the time of their release and I hate this memory hole narrative that only serves to make the reboot look better. The most nuanced, most complex story was told in 2005 and then it went downhill with narrative quality. I'd say GoW 3, CoO and Ascension are the worst offenders that turned Kratos into 1D angry moron.
