I like NG4's camera EXCEPT that the game disables mouse control when controller input is active. I wish so desperately that I could get mouselook to work, so I could actually move my camera quickly and precisely. In a game where enemies attack from offscreen and prioritizing targets in a fray is a key tactical gameplay element, I want to be able to readily control where I'm looking quickly and effectively. I've logged enough hours on my Steam Controller/Deck that I can play FPS titles pretty competently with trackball and gyro. I don't WANT the camera to auto-aim better for me, I just want to be given the tools to aim correctly myself.
Please god someone fix it with a mod. So far Nier Automata is the only Plat Engine game anyone's bothered to fix this for (though frustratingly, it works out of the box in Bayonetta).
