I will say, I think Vanquish gets specific points for being third person, it's a lot easier to do cool looking shit when you can see more than your hands. You should also bite down and try Warframe sometime, that game is stylish as hell, even if it is a god awful skinner box.

Still, I think Ultrakill is about more than just "good shooting", it has rocket sliding, air dashing, grappling hook navigation, wall jumps, ground slams, and a heavy focus on parrying. It also has an actual COMBO system since most of the interesting mechanics come from the way weapons interact with one another. It's like sniping your grenade in Vanquish, times a million

>grappling hook your own rocket
>railgun a coin
>railgun a grenade
>set traps by attacking magnetic projectile markers

The entire game is basically about what happens if you attack your own hitboxes. I really do recommend it highly if you love the tech in Vanquish.
