It was basically a quick to churn out Control asset flip because they have a large release gap between Alan Wake 2 (2023) and Max Payne Remake (late 2026/early 2027).
If I were them I probably would've spent the time making more Alan Wake 2 or Control DLC but I'm sure there are some Remedy folks who wanted to make a multiplayer game.
